Edvotek produces scientific hardware for the academic environment, demystifying complex processes for budding forensic professionals and molecular biologists. Following our help in the development of Edvocycler 2, we continued our relationship by building several other products to fill out their line of biotech education equipment.

The variety of hardware includes Edvocycler Jr., a smaller variant on the Edvocycler 2 PCR Machine. We developed two power supplies, devices used in a process known as Gel electrophoresis. In this process, students pass DNA fragments from the PCR step through an agarose gel. We also developed three visualizers or light boxes for examining the resultant DNA fragmentation bands inside those gels.

The Edge, in particular, integrates electrophoresis and visualization into one device.
